LATEMAR

Miniaturized Electrobiochemical Technology

LATEMAR

FIRB 2003-2004 (National Funds)
LATEMAR is a center of excellence financed by MIUR, (through FIRB 2003-2004 funding) for public and private research structures in strategic areas of national interest. It is a “Diffuse Laboratory” unifying and coordinating centers of excellence on basic research with R&D departments of highly qualified companies, with the aim of developing micro and nanodevices for genomics and post-genomics.
Latemar activities were subdivided into eight research lines; Cyanagen has been active in the research line III- ECL – Electrochemiluminescence.
Within this project, Cyanagen developed a set of new electrochemiluminescent markers for DNA analysis and a new technology for the inclusion of fluorophores into silica nanoparticles.
In addition, the project enabled the funding of scholarships aimed at the development of modified nucleotides, BODIPY, NIR cyanines and their conjugates.
